How Does Bottle Service Work?

In order to take advantage of some of the bottle service options available in New York– you will need to agree to a spending minimum before you enter the club.

In exchange for agreeing to a spending minimum – you get access to seating area and a table large enough to accommodate your group- for as long as it takes you to finish whatever booze you have purchased. You can read more about bottle service minimums here.

How Much Does Bottle Service Cost?

In New York, any club or lounge that is worth going to is going to want you to commit to a spending minimum of at least $75- $125 per person.

If a place quotes you less than that– you should be suspicious about the quality of the experience you are about to have.

At high end places, and places that are truly ‘in demand’ bottle service costs over $200 per person.

In other words– a typical price for 5 people at a high end place will cost about $1000 (not including tax or tip).

Who Should Make Bottle Service Reservations?

Bottle service is definitely not the right choice for everyone.

But it could be the right choice for you.

If you are interest in a premium experience, with a nice crowd, and you are willing / able to pay for it– then bottle service is probably the perfect choice for you.

However, if you are more price sensitive and not quite as picky about where you go you may want to consider getting on a guest list instead.

How Can You Make Bottle Service Reservations?

There are three methods that you can use to book a bottle service table.

1) Talk to the door manager– who can sell you a table & you will walk right in

2) Book a table directly from the club

3) Book through a promoter or concierge service

Lets take a look at the pros and cons of each of these methods.

Buying bottle service through the door manager

As far as we can tell this is actually how most tables get sold– which is surprising because buying a table this way you are almost certain to pay more than if you make reservations in advance. It is similar to prices of airline tickets, where price goes up at the last minute.

Pros

  • You don’t need to plan ahead
  • you don’t have to figure out how to contact the venue

Cons:

  • You will pay more
  • Unless you know NYC clubs well, you can’t be sure about what you’re getting
  • The club is more likely to just deny you outright

Booking table service through the venue directly

Pros

  • You can go directly to the source
  • You will pay less than if buy a table from the door man

Cons:

  • You need to be able to get in touch with the venue (not all of them respond to every reservation request)
  • Unless you know NYC clubs well, you can’t be sure about what you’re getting

Booking table service through a promoter or concierge (such as Social Yeti)

Pros

  • If you trust who you are booking through, they may be able to guide you toward a club that you will enjoy
  • You will pay less than if you book at the last minute through the door man
  • Promoters or concierges can sometimes help get you a better deal than you would get on your own

Cons:

  • Most promoters do not usually have access to every venue that you might want to go to
